Phil Rader: Replay
As an artist, I prefer to paint non-objectively using an experimental process. This allows me to create a spontaneous piece derived from the unconscious with the decisions made intuitively without preconception. I'm painting totally in the present moment and enjoy being surprised by what the finished piece looks like. For me, this process is not only a challenge but also a type of escapism and play.

When I view one of my old paintings, I consider my personal growth since and can recognize how different it would be if I painted it in the present. In this show, I've taken older paintings and made them into new images that retain some of their original elements.

Christine Rose Curry: Cathartic Clutter
For a moment, these items had an essential purpose. They were useful, they were necessary. In the next moment, these items were worthless, discarded and forgotten. Dread, anxiety, fear and sorrow. For a moment, these emotions consume me. Enrage and overwhelm me. In the next moment, these emotions soothe and caress me. I embrace the chaos. I find Harmony through the pattern of rhythm, and comfort through the act of creation.
An examination of form, an altering of function, and these items can suit a new purpose. A shift in perspective, a dialogue through mark making, and these emotions can befit a new perception.
