Event Information
Contemporary movies and classical music make excellent partners. On March 7 and 8, Giocosa Chamber Music presents three famous classical string quartets that have been used in movies.
This music might sound familiar - Mozart's String Quartet #19 (Dissonance) is often used in films but is rarely credited in soundtracks. Philip Glass' String Quartet #3 (Mishima) was composed specifically for Paul Schrader's 1985 film "Mishima: A Life in Four Chapters". Ravel's infamous String Quartet is featured prominently in Wes Anderson's "The Royal Tenenbaums". Presented with Giocosa's typical humor and a few extra surprises, performances will take place on Saturday March 7 at 3 pm at Thacher Hall in Yarmouth Port, and on Sunday March 8 at 3 pm at the First Congregational Church of Chatham.
