Traditions Pottery is owned by Michael and Janet Calhoun. Founded in 1992 after training, and inspiration from Janet's parents (Glenn and Lula). Their shop is located just across the creek from Bolick Pottery. Janet is a 6th generation potter from the Owens family. She strives to continue the traditional shapes such as Rebekah pitchers, candlesticks, and teapots, as well as her own designs of functional, and decorative items. Mike started making pottery shortly after marrying Janet in 1986. His much sought after face jugs are high in demand. Santas, Wizards, and Clay Spirits are the most desired Michael also does functional wares including large serving bowls and covered pitchers.
