The season starts with an opening reception Friday, May 22, 7 to 9pm.
"Twenty-two is an auspicious number according to numerology - the year of the Master Builder. Given the 2026 season direction, we're adopting twenty-two's theme of 'turning dreams into reality,' through perseverance and inspiration," Curator-owner Steve Bowersock says. "To celebrate this good fortune year our opening exhibit will introduce new artists, and feature a sneak peek of new works by the gallery's stable; all which will bear out 22's promise of insightful and expressive creations."
"Master Builders: New Voices, New Works," will introduce the work of artists Sally Fama Cochrane, Hillary Scott and Jennifer Frank Rand.
"We're excited about presenting the work of these women. There's no question our clients will be impressed and moved," Bowersock says. "These are three exceptionally skilled artists."
Emerging artist Jennifer Frank Rand is a representational painter. Her meticulously detailed subjects tend to lean in on story, often with a wink at humor or whimsy.
"Jennifer's skill makes her a real standout. Given she's in the early stages of her career, we can expect great things from her," Bowersock says. "We're looking forward to working with her during this promising journey."
Hillary Scott's moody, tonal landscapes are at once realistic and ethereal.
"I think the best way to describe Hillary's work is exciting; it moves you. Each is an image to get lost in," Bowersock says. "There is nothing passive about Hillary's vistas. They have something to say."
Classical realist Sally Fama Cochrane brings her PhD in History of Science to bear in her work, whether figurine, portraiture, or still life.
"Sally's work is rife with symbolism and allegory," Bowersock says. "There's always more than first glance reveals."
The most recent works by Bowersock's stable artists will either further continue their popular series, or take their followers in a new direction.
Painter Kevin Kusiolek will present an expansion of his distinct, stylized cityscape series, while Surrealist Steve Bowersock, in a departure from his usual mid and large canvases, will further a number of his enigmatic series with smaller scale works.
