Experience the Roots and Rhythm quintet, led by shakuhachi master John Kaizan Neptune and Grammy-winning ghatam virtuoso Giridhar Udupa, as it brings together Japanese, Indian, Latin and Jazz Fusion in a contemporary musical dialogue.

Blending the expressive voices of the shakuhachi and ghatam with guitar, bass and percussion, the ensemble creates an original contemporary sound shaped by improvisation, rhythm and musical dialogue. Rather than presenting musical traditions, Roots and Rhythm brings together diverse influences to create something new-music that is deeply rooted, yet unmistakably contemporary.
