Known for his narcocorrido style, this San Diego native was just a kid when his parents moved back to Culiacan Sinaloa, Mexico. It was there that Roberto Tapia found his passion for music, through which he tells the stories of ordinary folks who get caught up in the fast life that is the narcotics corridor in Mexico. Tapia has toured throughout Mexico, Latin America, and the US, spreading his love for one of Mexico’s most popular styles of music everywhere he goes.

At the age of 9 his parents sent him to music school where he learned how to play the clarinet and percussion, which allowed him to play as a youth with Sinaloa's Symphony. At the age of 13 his parents moved back to California where Roberto continued his musical studies. At 17 he made his first official appearance as a Regional Mexican music artists in Tijuana opening the show for El Lobito de Sinaloa.

Tapia continued to open for various artists in the area eventually releasing his own album which he sold at shows. This narcocorrido star got his big break when the album fell into the laps of Sony talent agents, who signed him in 2002. Roberto has only one event scheduled in 2012 in his home state of Arizona.
