On November 5, 1975, Walton, then a 22-year-old forestry worker, was struck by a beam of light from a mysterious craft in the Apache-Sitgreaves National Forest near Snowflake, Arizona. Six coworkers witnessed Walton being catapulted 40 feet up before dropping to the ground. The terrified logging crew took off, leaving Walton for dead. He vanished for five days, prompting a massive search involving scent dogs and helicopters. His reappearance near Heber, Arizona, and his account of an alien abduction became one of the most documented and debated cases in UFO history.
