Trinity Church took root at the corner of 33rd and Meridian on April 6, 1919, when a congregation of 27 worshipped together for the first time.

Known then as The Episcopal Church of the Advent, the little church fulfilled the Indianapolis Diocese Bishop Joseph Francis’ dream of a parish on the north side of Indianapolis. The purchase of the property moved quickly and support for the parish was strong.

By the late 1940s the church outgrew its humble beginnings. With all its previous debt paid off, the congregation launched plans for expansion, to include a new church building and the addition of another Sunday morning service. In late 1950 construction began and in April 1951 the church officially became known as Trinity Church.

Since then, Trinity has continued to expand with a focus on ministry partnerships that serve the neighborhood and community.
