It’s always good to stop and remember the wonderful things God has done and then use it as an encouragement of what is yet to come. Eastside has been sitting on Lower Roswell Road for over 52 years and has a rich history of a faithful God working through faithful people.

In June of 1961, 170 people celebrated the first Sunday of Eastside Baptist Chapel, a mission church of Roswell Street Baptist. These people felt God’s calling to start a church plant on the other side of the “Four-Lane” (Hwy. 41). Rev. Ken Ellison was the first Pastor and quickly led in the construction of a new building.

In 1967, when the Ellison’s left to be missionaries in Indonesia, Rev. Arnall Richardson was chosen to lead Eastside. With the growth of Lockheed many new families were moving into the area and into our church requiring a new Educational wing to be added.
