The House of Blues brand was the brainchild of Isaac Tigrett.
The Houston House of Blues opened its doors to the public in October of 2008 and is located in the city’s downtown area. The House of Blues Houston boasts the only building in the House of Blues franchise to be constructed in a vertical format. And The House of Blues Houston's unique features continue with the Bronze Peacock Room, which commemorates the Houston blues club where Big Momma Thornton and Lightnin’ Hopkins performed for the first time. Like the other House of Blues venues, the House of Blues Houston has stuck to its roots by displaying the “Crazy Quilt” and keeping a box of Delta Mississippi mud underneath its stage - a gesture to ensure that each performer will have the ""spirit of the South"" beneath their feet.
