As the weather chills, we chill into groove-driven music and movement. Saturdays December
9th and 16th at the Amsterdam Bar & Hall, local dance artist Erinn Liebhard, a cast of six dynamic local
dancers and a live jazz quartet invite the public to enjoy Chill. This dance show of works by Erinn
Liebhard offers remounts of lively original choreography and new movement creations, featuring
quartet GSTs live renditions of Vince Guaraldis playful and nostalgic "Charlie Brown Christmas
jazz soundtrack. Come enjoy a pint and a snack while experiencing festive live music and dance this
holiday season at St. Paul fixture the Amsterdam Bar & Hall. They start serving drinks and lunch at
11am, and seating for the show is first come, first served, so come early!
As the birthplace of Peanuts creator Charles Schultz, Minnesotas capital city is an ideal place to
present this jazz choreography experimentation with the beloved soundtrack from one of his most well-
known endeavors. Composed by Vince Guaraldi, a West-Coast jazz musicians little-known past his
region before the release of the celebrated TV special he scored, the soundtrack music itself has carved
an aural niche in American popular culture, yet, until now, has never been the feature of a production of
original concert dance choreography. Chill offers a unique holiday outing option great for all yuletide
revelry-seekers, including families: kids 12 and under are free!
The production is brought to life by a crew of excellent local artists, including dancers Leanna Browne,
Doug Hooker, Genevieve D. Johnson, O'Calla Joslyn, Callie Rosenbaum, Jesse Schmitz-Boyd and
Crissy Tolson, and local jazz combo GST. With a groovy style combining the complexity and
improvisation of jazz with the energy of rock, they describe their sound as either high brow rock or
low brow jazz, you can decide. Choreographer Erinn Liebhard is a Twin Cities-based dance artist
making opportunities for people to experience the connective and reflective power of groove. Chill is
the second evening of all her own work shes produced in her artistic base of the Twin Cities. More
