Buckle up kids - Radio / East is thrilled to announce that we'll be hosting the **6th annual Bill Ball**! Austin post-punk pranksters **Big Bill** curate their favorite hometown bands each year into one event on two stages! We'll also have local vendors, drink specials, and a photogrpher on hand to take your best prom photo! \--**Big Bill:** Influenced by the deadpan irreverence of The Monks and Talking Heads, Big Bill is known for their darkly comic, nervy take on punk rock. Formed in 2011 by the Braden brothers, Eric and Cody, Big Bill has always embraced the “all are welcome” vibe of punk circa the early 1980's, as embodied by Austin legends like Big Boys and The Dicks. From the get-go Big Bill stunned Austin audiences and won a dedicated following via their high energy live performances, pricking at the brain with absurd, imagistic lyrics, while pummeling the body with chaotic drums and throat-slicing guitar riffs. Though their brain-altering live show remains a huge part of their DNA, Big Bill's music has evolved across many lineup changes-- the current lineup being Eric Braden on vocals, Alan Lauer on bass, Alex Riegelman on guitar, and Jeff Olson on drums--stretching from the rawest, weirdest punk **Batty Jr.** is a psychedelic-folk-scrap-dish-music band, born and raised in Austin, TX. Fronted by songwriter Tansen "Zeke" Jarmon (guitar), Batty Jr. has been captivating audiences in Austin and beyond since 2015. Sadie Wolfe (cello), Conner Church (drum kit), and Ry Black (bass) round out the sound - often described as high-pitch, barely audible screeches that they project onto the walls in order to locate objects in the room. Their albums have been warmly received by the local music community- described as having "brilliant lyrics, identity, melody, humor" (Shakey Graves) and “the freshness and the authenticity of someone who probably doesn't look in the mirror too much" (Do512). The Batt's newest release is called "DO A U E!" You can find it online and at your local record shop. As Zeke Jarmon once said, “We are just a band that likes to get rained on when it's raining. Join us!” **The Pinky Rings** are a punk rock band from Austin, Texas formed in 2019. They have been praised for their energetic live performances, switching of instruments and channeling raw rage and passion through their music. They released their debut self-titled album ‘The Pinky Rings’ in September 2022. **Geto Gala:** A formidable friendship formed in 2010 as Jake Lloyd and Deezie Brown emerged onto the music scene in Austin. Geto Gala is a creation of their own for their sound and their community, yet all are welcome. The Gala is a celebration of black excellence conveyed through the modern nostalgic Texas and Southern sounds they were inspired by. Presented by Radio East. All ages
