84 Tigers’ debut album "Time in the Lighthouse" feels like a hurricane of nature at times — crashing, shifting, and moving with an intensity that only Mother Nature can create, then suddenly shifting to rise with big, open melodies, creating a sense of the clouds parting after a massive storm on the seas. Featuring Mike Reed (guitar/vocals), Ben Reed (bass), and Jono Diener (drums), and after years of perennial touring and releases with their previous critically-adored outfits, Small Brown Bike and The Swellers, 84 Tigers has emerged as the three musicians' primary creative outlet in music. The trio immediately bonded, having gone down a similar path of pursuing a dream, making a splash, then exiting when the time felt right. The band officially formed in early 2021 based on demos Mike had been working on through 2019/2020. In October 2021, still unannounced to the world, the band recorded with Marc Jacob Hudson (Against Me!, Taking Back Sunday) at Rancho Recordo, deep in the woods of Michigan. The result is an intense and driving 10-song album that blurs the lines of post-hardcore, punk, and 90s alt-rock into the band’s own sound. "Time In The Lighthouse" perfectly captures the juxtaposition of its point of origin — layers of grit and weathered textures surrounding a core that is authentic and approachable, and thematic content that balances subtle nods and explicit references to the enduring and industrious spirit of the midwest. Indie combo Pilot to Gunner came together in New York City around 1998. Led by the vocals and guitar of Scott V. Padden, P to G also included guitarist Patrick Hegarty, bassist Martin McLoughlin, and drummer Kurt L. Herrman. The boys debuted on wax in 1999 with the Hit the Ground and Hum EP for Me Too!; that led to the 2001 Gern Blandsten full-length Games at High Speeds. A hellacious touring schedule ensued, which found Pilot to Gunner bringing its tightly wound emo-punk to America and Australia and garnering some pretty fawning press blurbs along the way. The hullabaloo led to a deal with Arena Rock Recording Company, which reissued Games with an additional bonus track in early 2003 before releasing Get Saved a year later. Dead Rose, the debut album from NYC-based band The Twin, was born from the loss of the ever-so-addictive and wildly unpredictable drug called Love.Singer/songwriter, Bryan Louie (Joshua Fit For Battle, Verses Narrow, Heavy Vessel), penned the eight tracks as he was going through a lengthy, drawn-out breakup from a long-term partner. The album reflects the emotions he felt and packages them into songs that resemble withdrawal. Written as acoustic songs, Bryan quickly realized that in order to give the sentiment in the tracks justice, he would need a band. At a mutual friend's show in Brooklyn, Bryan ran into drummer Jeff Gensterblum (Small Brown Bike, Able Baker Fox, LaPeche) and he signed on to help flesh out the songs. A few practices and many pool games later, bassist Eric Odness (Ageist, Chariots, Primitive Weapons), was asked to join to round out the group. In October 2019, the band traveled to the wonderful “liberal pour” city of Baltimore to record with legend J Robbins at his Magpie Cage studio. With J's expertise, the songs reached their full potential and the heartbreak was cemented into the album Dead Rose. Presented by Saint Vitus LLC (dba Saint Vitus Bar). This is a 21+ event
