The Tri-State Blues Band began playing in the fall of 2005 in Chicago, Illinois. A four piece band, they are fronted by Miles Sullivan on lead vocals and acoustic guitar, while R.J. Richter handles electric guitar duties. The rhythm section consists of John Michels on electric bass, and Ryan Brown on the drum kit.The band has gigged consistently since early 2006 and has played regularly at numerous Chicago venues including: Smoke Daddy, Gallery Cabaret, Reggies Music Joint, Pontiac Cafe, the Green Room, the Elbo Room, Silvie's Lounge, The Couch, Lottie's Pub, and many private events. Tri-State has also traveled to gigs throughout the Great Lakes region.

Tri-State's live sets are tailored for each venue and selected from a diverse catalog of traditional blues, classic rock 'n roll, and original rock 'n roll. Their catalog includes great versions of songs from: Robert Johnson, the Rolling Stones, Freddie King, Mississippi John Hurt, Jimmy Reed, the Beatles, ...
