Welcome to the legendary bar known as Gabe’s Oasis.  It first started as Gabe and Walker’s back in the early 70′s and, while it has gone through many transformations, it is strangely the same.  This place has operated for years bringing some of the best live music available to Iowa City.  It was renamed the Picador for several years under new ownership that cleaned the place up. 

It was then sold to a group of people that then ran it into the ground but the current owners have cleaned the place up and Gabe’s is in the best shape it has ever been.  We are bringing high quality local, regional and national shows to Iowa City and have made the downstairs and the beer garden a great place to hang out again.  One of our favorite things about this place is that you can do ANY type of music upstairs.  It is not uncommon to see a punk show followed by a metal show with a jam band show the next night and a hip hop show the ni ...
