The Fox Theater is located in the Uptown District of Oakland, California. The Fox Theater Oakland originally opened in 1928 but later closed its doors in 1966. However after a massive renovation project, the Fox Theater once again became open to the public in February of 2009. Since re-opening, the Fox Theater Oakland has become a popular city landmark and entertainment destination. Being demographically located at the heart of California’s infamous Bay Area, the Fox Theater Oakland has become an epicenter for various artistic productions. The Fox Theater continues to play a large part in the artistic development of the area by housing the Oakland School for the Arts. When it isn’t busy with the various productions of its tenant, the Fox Theater schedule hosts a variety of community, corporate and touring events.
