Event Information
Celebrate America's 250th Birthday with the brilliant violin concerto composed by Wynton Marsalis, from the perspective of a jazz musician and New Orleans bluesman.
As Wynton is a trumpeter and not a violinist, his music will be performed by the amazing American violin virtuoso Kelly Hall-Tompkins, who will also thrill us with Fiddler Fantasy, based on Fiddler on the Roof, and composed just for Kelly's amazing talent. (Wynton will not be performing.)
Plus, to honor the old-world masters who came to America, we perform Tchaikovsky's joyful Symphony No. 2, which draws on Ukrainian folk songs. Join in this homage to perhaps the greatest Russian composer, who came to New York in 1981 to conduct at the opening of Carnegie Hall!
Time: 7:30 PM - 9:30 PM
Prices:
Best seats in the theatre: USD 91.00,
Further back in the theatre: USD 27.00
Artists: Kelly Hall-Tompkins, Wynton Marsalis
