In May, Public Records will open the doors to its latest venture, an outdoor event space located directly adjacent to our current Garden space, simply named The Nursery. For our first season open, our music programming team has curated an eclectic series of Sunday parties that spans genres and perfectly encapsulates all that we are and where we aim to go. From May 28th to October 8th, every single Sunday we will present these diverse and exciting lineups in the Nursery. PR residents and deep diving crate diggers Jenifa Mayanja + Shawn Dub anchor this party, a day of celebrating the Detroit sound as two of the city’s legends step behind the decks; Rick Wade and Patrice Scott. Both stalwarts have been spinning for decades, bumping elbows with Detroit’s finest, and have shaped identities that feel as Detroit as they do uniquely them. Expect sets deep, atmospheric house, tinged with funk and soul for a promise to keep your body grooving all day long. Limited tickets will be sold at the door.
