Front porch melodies and song lyrics grown out of the rocky topsoil of Eastern Kentucky's Appalachian Mountains intertwine SUNDY BEST's roots in every song they sing. They are storytellers and balladeers. They are crowd rockers and party starters. The band's visceral sound and incredible live shows have gained them a loyal following of dedicated fans from the hills and hollers of Appalachia, all the way to the bustling one way streets under downtown city lights across the south. There are mountains in their music - valleys of love lost and missing home, peaks of rowdy Saturday nights chasing Kentucky women, and the journey in between. With influences ranging from country and bluegrass to rock, soul, and rhythm and blues, the duo produces music that, at times, is hard to classify. That's just fine by bandmates Kris Bentley and Nick Jamerson, whose new album Door Without a Screen released on June 2nd. No need for a radio template, just the strum of guitar strings, bass and snare, life lyrics, and the family, friends, and fans that make it all worth it. Every song is a reminder that they have not forgotten where they came from. So put some Kentucky Bourbon in a mason jar, walk barefoot on cool grass, play Sundy Best loud and dance until your roots show.

A country-folk duo hailing from eastern Kentucky, Sundy Best features Nick Jamerson and Kris Bentley, friends since elementary school. Jamerson and Bentley blend country, Appalachian folk, bluegrass, rock, soul, and R&B into a stomping back-porch sound based around Jamerson's acoustic guitar, Bentley's cajón (a sort of portable drum), and the pair's impassioned vocal blend. Sundy Best independently released a debut album called Door Without a Screen in 2012, then grew their fan base through savvy use of social media and striking live shows. After one of the songs from the album, "Home," ended up in heavy rotation at CMT, Sundy Best were signed to a multi-album deal with Entertainment One, and they re-released Door Without a Screen with six additional songs at the end of the summer in 2013. The duo's second full-length release, Bring Up the Sun, which appeared early in 2014, featured re-recorded versions of some of the songs on the first album (including the signature "Home" as "I Wanna Go Home") and newer material, all of it written by the duo in-house. Bring Up the Sun rose to number 11 on the Country Albums chart and 14 on the Indie Albums listing. December 2014 brought another Sundy Best album, Salvation City, which debuted on the Country Albums chart at an impressive number 22. In 2016, Sundy Best gave their fans a souvenir of their celebrated live show with the concert album It's So Good Live. ~ Steve Leggett, Rovi
